Total joint replacement
Various conditions cause pain in the joints and skeletal muscles of the human body. Most common is the damage of the articular cartilage. Articular cartilage is a white tissue that covers joints where bones meet.
The damage of articular cartilage can be as a result of arthritis or fracture. The procedure for joint replacement is often the replacement of the cartilage with metal or plastic surfaces to facilitate motion.
ACL is an acronym of Anterior Cruciate Ligament. This ligament is vital in stabilizing the knee. Damage to the knee ligament often occurs due to various activities. Engaging in competitive sports or twisting of the knee can result in the damage of the knee.
During a procedure to reconstruct the ACL, a new tissue is attached to the ligament with screws.As the knee heals, the ligaments fill up.
